"I only wanted pencils and sketchbooks," Valeria Massai recalls of her childhood in a medieval Tuscan village. This early passion for design led her through the ranks of luxury fashion, from her formative years at Prada to an influential 11-year tenure as Bottega Veneta's Women's Leather Goods Director, where she created some of the house's most iconic bags under Daniel Lee's creative direction.
The rhythms of her Tuscan life infuse every aspect of her work. From her farmhouse studio, Massai moves between the tranquil countryside and the bustling fashion world, drawing inspiration from both. After refining her craft at houses like Prada, Miu Miu, Jil Sander, and Helmut Lang, Christian Dior, Bvlgari, Bottega Veneta she now leads an intimate team of four, balancing global design with local craftsmanship. It's a harmony that defines her approach - one that values both innovation and tradition.
Her latest collaboration with Fabrique embodies this versatile spirit. The collection moves effortlessly between beachside relaxation and urban sophistication, each piece crafted with sustainable materials and traditional techniques. These bags tell stories of both heritage and modern life, designed to evolve and endure. Massai offers something different: accessories that carry meaning, crafted to be treasured across generations.
